The Collector of Beauty

You press delicate wings and bodies

underneath pins and glass.

You are the collector of butterflies.

You pick the thorns off stems and press buds

tightly between pages of books.

You are the collector of flowers.

You want to see me one last time.

You must think me a fool

to let you the collector of beauty

near me again.
